About Card Grader
AI-powered card grading, built by collectors who get it.
Why We Built This
We've all been there—scrolling through listings, trying to figure out if that "NM" card is actually near mint or if the seller is being... optimistic. Professional grading services are great, but the wait times, costs, and minimum submissions make them impractical for most of your collection.
That's where Card Grader comes in. We built an AI that analyzes your cards the same way a professional grader would—examining centering, surface quality, edges, and corners—then gives you an honest grade prediction in seconds. No shipping. No waiting months. No $30 per card.
Our Mission
To bring transparency to the raw card market. Whether you're buying, selling, or just curious about what you've got, you deserve to know the real condition of a card before money changes hands.
Smart AI Analysis
Our models are trained on thousands of professionally graded cards, learning the subtle details that separate a 7 from a 9.
Instant Results
Get a detailed grade breakdown in seconds. Snap a photo, upload, and know exactly what you're working with.
Market Intelligence
See recent eBay sales for your exact card at different grades. Know the value before you buy or sell.
Grade Anywhere
Use our iOS app to grade cards on the go—at card shows, shops, or when that eBay package arrives.
How It Works
Our AI examines your card images across four key dimensions—the same criteria used by PSA, BGS, and CGC:
- Centering — Measures border consistency on front and back
- Surface — Detects scratches, print lines, and blemishes
- Edges — Identifies whitening, chips, and wear patterns
- Corners — Analyzes sharpness and damage at each corner
These scores combine into a predicted overall grade, complete with a detailed condition report explaining exactly what the AI found. It's like having a grading expert in your pocket.
We're Straight With You
Our grades are predictions, not guarantees. The goal is to give you a realistic expectation before you decide whether professional grading is worth it. We calibrate against real PSA submissions and continuously improve our accuracy—but no AI can replace actually holding a card under good light.
That said, we've helped collectors avoid overpaying for "mint" cards that were clearly played, and helped sellers understand why that Charizard isn't quite the 10 they hoped for. That's the kind of honest insight we're here to provide.
Built for the Community
Card Grader started as a side project and grew because collectors actually found it useful. We're not some faceless corporation—we're a small team that collects cards, follows the market, and genuinely cares about making this hobby better for everyone.
Got feedback? Found a bug? Have an idea? We actually read every message at support@cardgrader.ai. Seriously.
