Releasing July 17, 2026, Pitch Black is the fifth expansion in the Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Series (set code ME05) and the English adaptation of Japan's Abyss Eye (M5). It is the darkest entry yet — the set is built around Mega Darkrai ex as its mascot, with twinkling city lights and starry skies swallowed by shadow. The set totals 120 cards: an 84-card main set plus 36 secret rares, headlined by six Mega Evolution ex.

  • 84 main-set cards plus 36 secret rares: 11 Illustration Rares, 18 Ultra Rares, 6 Special Illustration Rares, and 1 Mega Hyper Rare.
  • Six Mega Evolution ex lead the set: Mega Darkrai ex (mascot), Mega Zeraora ex, Mega Chandelure ex, Mega Excadrill ex, Mega Delphox ex, and Mega Slowbro ex. Each follows the 3-Prize Mega rule — immense power with real risk.
